It was a beautiful hot sunny day and 17 people alighted from the coach at Seatoller for our walk back to Keswick It was rather a pull up to meet The Allerdale Ramble path but fortunately this did not last long. After catching our breathe we were soon on a more level path heading toward the track along the bottom of Castle Crag. The pull from the summit of Castle Crag was just too much for John and he had to give in and head off to the top.One down !!
We then headed to the riverbank where most of the group sought shade for our lunch stop.It was very peaceful sitting watching the world go by.Then via Manesty we headed to Derwent Water and a lovely walk along along the lake. For refreshment we sat outside at The Chalet Portinscale then wandered back to Keswick where we found John sitting outside Bryson's at peace with the world .
It was a beautiful day, wonderful views and excellent company with the world put to rights on route what more could you ask for?

A wonderful day and yet again a great turnout, 42 on the coach. The good weather brings with it some strange sights, funny shorts, funny hats and funny cream covered faces. There are not too many photos of today’s walk as I was only on it for a couple of miles. I’ve always found Castle Crag a fascinating little mountain and on a day like today it was irresistible. I said goodbye to the B party and headed off for the summit. After Castle Crag I set off in pursuit of the B party but as Cat Bells came into view I had another irresistible urge and set off for another summit. It was hot work and I was quite worn out when I reached the top. I decided I had done enough for the day and went “off piste” straight down the side of Cat Bells to Brandelhow and had a lovely little boat ride to Keswick. A perfect finish to the walk. I caught up with the B party in Bryson’s Café, sitting there I saw a sight I thought I would never see , two heavily armed policemen patrolling the square. I saw the same thing in Carlisle Square yesterday, what a terrible world we live in. Despite this, a fantastic day, many thanks to Mary and John for leading.
