Prior to heading up Castle Crag there was a pretty large gang all ready to head up Catbells. After the Service it had dwindled to 11 of us. The rain threatened all day and at times there was some of that sort of rain that gets you wet, as Peter Kay describes it. After lunch and a good effort we all got to the summit of Catbells beating the rain and strong winds, so well done to all in particular to Susan and Becky a couple of new members. I hope your initiation didn’t put you off in any way. The walk down was a struggle, wet ,slippery and required a lot of care but all made it. The last couple of miles into Portinscale was pretty easy after the day we had and we made it in time to hit the Cafe, we had all earned our cuppa today. A red squirrel spotted along with a close encounter with a Kestrel added to the day. Thanks and well done again to all for sticking it out on a tricky day
