Arthurs Pike

With Christmas Dinner waiting for us at Tirril 10 set off from the road side car parking area at Roehead to get a walk in up Arthurs Pike before lunch. All arranged on the hoof. We took a route via White Knott which gave us some spectacular views across Ullswater to the Helvellyn range, Blencathra and much more.   Anything of any height  was covered in snow and at times underfoot it was a foot or so deep. On the summit we had time for a quick cuppa before heading down along the Roman Road to the stone circle at the Cockpit.

From there it was back to the cars and Tirril for a great Christmas Lunch.

An all round brilliant day. A cracking short walk if a bit boggy at times followed by a smashing dinner all enjoyed in the true Christmas spirit. Hope you all have a good Christmas and thanks to John for organising the dinner.

Regards Pete
