There were 20 walkers today including two new members to whom we extend a warm welcome. The weather was somewhat cloudy but less so than in Carlisle. The walk had several highlights which included seeing bluebells and other flowers at their best, an alpaca farm where the farmer was happy to talk about her animals, views to both the Lake District and the Pennines, many beautiful houses and cottages, much good crack and perhaps best of all a drink in the pub garden afterwards – a simple joy which we used to take for granted. We suffered one heavy rain shower, but the sun came out later, enough to dry us out. Thanks to everyone for coming. There were 20 walkers today including two new members to whom we extend a warm welcome. The weather was somewhat cloudy but less so than in Carlisle.
