12 walkers set of from Tebay braving a wet start to the day with low cloud grazing the fells on all sides
We made the first objective of Jeffery's Mount but the conditions deteriorated further and route finding became more difficult to put it mildly. After a few wrong turns we descended to a lower path which frustratingly seemed to disappear from under our feet as we made our way over a muddy col towards Borrowdale.
There were several moments when it seemed that the valley itself had also disappeared into the mists but eventually the roofline of Low Borrowdale farm loomed into view. Reaching the valley bottom visibility improved enough to give some impression of the charms of this remote spot. The return was made to Tebay with everyone in good spirits after what had been a challenging day.
Thanks to all who came along and special thanks for all the help with navigation.
