Thirtyone out for the pre Xmas lunch walk on a very overcast and glum looking day. We set off from the road at the side of Sale Fell. An early cuppa and mince pie was had at the Chapel ruins as it provided the little shelter we could get. Everyone got around to Lothwaite Fell where the group split, half heading down when the other half headed up to Sale Fell. The wind was rather strong on the summit with some heavy hail thrown in so we didn’t hang about and quickly made our way down. Back at the cars some killed a bit of time walking around the Nature Reserve the more sensible had drinks in the Pheasant Inn.
It was then to the Crags for a splendid Christmas Dinner. Thanks to Ian for organising it and extra thanks to those on my table who don’t like brussel sprouts, you made my day.
