Striding Edge

Unlike the the  previous couple of  club visits to Striding Edge the weather gods didn’t smile down on us. It’s certainly a much different proposition when the rock is wet and slippery and the leader along with several other walkers chose to follow the lower path . Those with more confidence made a full crossing along the crest of the ridge despite the misty drizzle which turned to rain as we approached the summit of Helvellyn. For two of the group this was their first traverse though I hope they will get the chance to do it again in more clement weather.
