A good turnout again (19) for an easy paced ramble exploring the Newlands valley
A familiar walk I've done several times but one that always delivers some surprises. This time the highlight was the carpet of snowdrops in the churchyard, a fine sight to behold and hopefully a sign that spring is just around the corner. The steep little climb up to the mine entrance wasn't taken by everyone but the terrace outside the entrance made for a good lunch spot. Reading up about the mine, which dates back to Elizabeth the first, It appears that there a were two underground waterwheels inside the mine though no one was brave or wise enough to venture too far inside.
Thanks to everyone who joined the walk
