With clear skies and snow topped peaks today’s B walk made for a fine expedition.

Thirteen walkers set off from Patterdale and good time was made up to the crossing of Grisedale Beck just below Ruthwaite lodge. There we encountered the C party who had obviously been taking performance-enhancing substances to arrive at the same spot ahead of us. Pleasantries were exchanged and then we set off to make the steeper ascent past Ruthwaite lodge and on up to the Tarn. The weather turned at this point and shelter was taken among the boulders to take lunch. The return route required some careful traversing of ice covered paths until the greener lower reaches of the valley was reached.   A descent was made towards Lanty’s Tarn and then a short steep drop into Glenridding with just enough time for a quick cuppa before the coach departed. Thanks to everyone who joined the walk.
