Carlisle & District Rambling & Fellwalking Club

Walk & Event Reports

I wonder how many folk like me have, for many years, looked at Criffel from the northern fells and thought: one day .... well today  fourteen walkers made the climb to the top of the Solway giant for the chance of looking back in the opposite direction. Unfortunately the Lake District fells remained mostly  hidden but the views of the coast along the Scottish side of the Solway and inland over Galloway were extensive and made the climb well worth it. The weather proved kind and improved into the afternoon with warm sunshine on the descent to New Abbey and welcome refreshments in the tea room. A fine day and thanks once again for everyone who came along
