Carlisle & District Rambling & Fellwalking Club

Walk & Event Reports

We made a welcome return to this corner of Yorkshire and enjoyed a great day for the annual coach ramble with lots of sunshine but enough of a breeze to make it perfect conditions for walking. We were expertly guided into Malham by the coach driver and the A and B walks headed off to wards the famous Malham Cove by different routes The A group
Passed by lovely waterfall of Janet’s Foss then admired dramatic Goredale Scar and watched rock climbers tackling the fierce overhanging cliffs.
The Cove was busy as usual but once away from edge there were fewer folk and we enjoyed the wide expanse of open moorland with views of the Three Peaks and beyond
The  B group explored cave openings above Settle and both groups descended by field paths and quiet lanes into the town
The meal at the Talbot Inn  ( as well as the beer) was excellent and rounded off a splendid day
Thanks to everyone who came along.
