Nineteen walkers set off for the promised waterfall and Esk valley walk after a memorable trip on the Ratty
We made the rocky ascent to Stanley Ghyll force and tested our nerves on the recently installed viewing platform
The dry weather meant the Walter fall was a little less dramatic but the 150ft deep sheer sided gorge was an impressive sight
Lunch was taken here and we descended to walk along side the river Esk getting shelter in the woodland from the increasing amount of rain. Reaching Doctor Bridge with the skies darkening a decision was made to shorten the route and miss out the open fell climb up to Eel Tarn. A wise decision as it turned out as the heavens really opened just as we reached Dalegarth
Still a good five mile ramble which made for a grand day out
Thanks to everyone who came along
