20 walkers came on today's walk. The coach left us at Lanthwaite Green in sunshine from where we walked to the excellent viewpoint of Brackenthwaite Hows. From there we followed paths and forest tracks in dappled shade past the boathouse on Crummock Water, eventually leaving the lakeside and stopping at Rannerdale where lunch was taken still in sunshine. We walked up the valley to the col south of Rannerdale Knotts. Here 6 descended to Butternere, whilst 14 walked north to the summit of Rannerdale Knotts and then retraced steps, before the descent to sample scrumptious cake in Buttermere. Thanks to all who came including a new member and to Ken our back marker par excellence
