Another good turnout for a Sunday B walk with 16 setting off from Waterend, close to Loweswater Hall, in bright sunshine and under blue skies. The promised arctic blast, at least at valley floor level, was elusive and everyone enjoyed a fine days outing following some little walked paths as well as more familiar ways around Loweswater.
Lunch was taken with fine views down the valley and across to the high fells being tackled by the “A” party. A gentle descent to the valley bottom then a little traffic dodging before a final climb. this time on the opposite side of the lake affording more views. Tea was taken at Moota. A cracking day, slightly longer than planned but completed in good time. Two things were learned from the walk:
1. What the county flag of Cumbria looks like and 2; the walk leader is not scared of plastic spiders.
Thanks to everyone for joining him today.
