C Walk
Woodland Lakeside Walk

A lovely morning just made for walking found the "C" walkers 12 of us heading for Springs Farm and Wood. Gaining the 600ft contour we turned off for Great Wood which we found to be both refreshing and cooling after our exertions on the steepish path.
The woodland was alive with bird song while unseen a woodpecker was noisily hammering away at the trees.
We reached and crossed the Borrowdale Road and stopped for an extended lunch break sitting in the sunshine at Calf Close Bay overlooking Derwentwater. Lovely.
We returned to Keswick via the lakeshore path and Friars Crag and mingled with the crowds of tourists like us enjoying the Spring Sunshine as they wandered along the prom.
A fine walk through a beautiful area and well led by Madge.
