15 braved the tricky drive up the single track road up Long Sleddale to Sad Gill. On arrival there were more cars parked than I have ever seen before at the small parking area. We were very lucky to get our cars parked as others arrived, took one look and drove off again. But it wasn’t in vain as we were amply rewarded with a great hike and some cracking weather. Also the views down Haweswater from HarterFell were some of the best Ive seen. All three wainwrights bagged as planned with 3 other Birketts taken in by the Birkett Baggers. All in all a splendid day, thanks to the gang who pitched up for the walk
