It Felt like old times today with 37 on the coach and a good spread across all three walks. The weather stayed fair with a bright sunny start to the day and a pleasant walk through the grounds of the Lowther estate, mostly alongside the river before climbing up onto Askham Fell. The clouds did roll in after lunch but the 17 A walkers enjoyed a visit to the the stone circle and moody views of Ullswater from the top of Heughscar Fell before making gentle descent to Pooley Bridge and the very busy Granny Dowbekins café ( contrary to to rumours the walk leader was not physically ejected but politely asked to wait outside whilst the tables were cleaned!)
Thanks to everyone who came out today
Hopefully this will mark a return to fuller coaches for 2022
