Leaving the car park and gradually ascending the nose of Fleetwith Pike, the group were rewarded with glimpses of sunshine in the Buttermere Valley below. With our fingers crossed that the fine weather should stay with us, we continued to the summit, where a cooling breeze decided us to carry on to Dubbs Hut for a lunch stop. It was then on to Haystacks, passing Innominate Tarn where a couple of our four legged members took a dip. Fabulous views over Buttermere & Crummock Water, we continued to Haystacks. Stronger winds at the top made us descend slightly for a quick cuppa followed by a hunt around the various cairns for the true top. Retracing our steps for a short while, the next stop off was to explore Warnscale Bothy before taking the path that descended all the way to the cars. Very lucky with the weather. Big thank you to everyone who came along & made this walk easy to lead, a little fun trying out the Walkie Talkies and thanks to Jean for back marking. Hope to see everyone out again soon
