Todays walk was chopped and changed a bit due to the weather. The problem being the swollen rivers making crossings impossible. This didn’t mean the walk was made any easier, in fact the proposed 7 and a half miler turned into !0miles. The hike up Gavel Fell was a bit of a challenge, it was a bit boggy and we had a prolonged down poor of hail. With a break in the weather lunch was taken just off the summit before heading up Blake Fell. When it wasn’t raining the wind did impede progress but we made it to Bunrbank. It was then down to take the path above Loweswater then heading through the woods to the Lake side for the track back to the cars. There were 10 out and thanks for pitching up when it was apparent by the forecast that it was going to be a challenging day. I hope you all got something from the day, apart from getting wet. See you all next time.
