B Walk

Brampton Area

5 of us set off from Carlisle and were met by 4 more walkers at Brampton. Progress was made to Brampton Old Church and after a quick look round the churchyard we set off for Walton, after arriving early the leader made an executive decision and a stop was made at the teashop. The warmth of the teashop was very difficult to leave but we did and visited part of Hadrians Wall at Dovecote Bridge and continued onto Lanercost Priory and Abbey Bridge for Lunch.

After lunch the sun blessed us with its presence and we set off through Quarrybeck woods and onto the ridge were some youngsters were in training for some upcoming competition, after returning to the cars 6 of us made our way to Hayton Farm Shop  and for some of us our second teashop visit of the day, how very civilised 🙂
