11 walkers found the secluded start for the walk and unexpectedly today turned out to be a Ladies only event and although we did get the predicted few showers it certainly wasn’t “Raining men”.

We enjoyed a coffee break in the serene setting of Shap Abbey which was the only point on the walk

where we encountered other walkers

While this valley presently remains an unspoilt hidden gem, as I am writing this report the area features on this week’s Countryfile promoting the RSPB wildlife walk in the valley- the beauty of the valley was clear to see.

Big thankyou to the 10 ladies who completed the long circuit with me-another great day to remember.
