A contubernium marched along Hadrian’s Wall and the Irthing Gorge in fabulous sunshine. Mud, bog, floods, fallen trees, perilous bridges and slippery stiles gave a bit of an assault course vibe – but all worth the endurance once we reached the spectacular full force - Crammel Linn Waterfall.
For those who didn’t come – there’s loads you now don’t know!!! – especially the location of a nuclear bunker.
To avoid a mutiny I opted out of the bracken covered return route, taking the road instead. We made it back to Gilsland and enjoyed refreshments in House of Meg.
Another memorable day – thankyou to the magnificent seven who completed the course with me.
