A great day today with 24 walkers enjoying a varied ten mile ramble. The weather stayed fair although low cloud obscured more distant views. There was plenty of opportunity to practice some of the map and compass skills outlined on Friday night. The other highlight of the walk was a close encounter with a group of friendly fell ponies who coincidently arrived as we were enjoying lunch at the stone circle on Askham Fell
