Eight of us set off from the Cross Keys in Canonbie on a mild evening. It was raining slightly but it stopped after five minutes and for the next hour it was very pleasant. We made our way alongside the river Esk and then headed into a lovely pheasant infested woods. As we emerged from the woods the heavens opened and for the next hour we walked in torrential rain. It was wonderful, really exhilarating. We were all rather wet and looking forward to our dinner and what a lovely dinner it was. The Cross Keys got a big thumbs up from everyone. Many thanks to Anne and Ken for a lovely evening, despite the rain.
