A small select group of 5 turned up to walk the walk while I tried to talk the talk.
The weather was kind to us, the tide was out so no waterproofs or wellies were required. At the farm we were all intrigued by the rotating cow scratching brush, however when what appeared to be a 21st century dalek approached (Lely Juno) fear of extermination hastened us on our way. We were concerned for a while that we were exceeding the speed limit of “walking pace only” but fortunately no speed cameras in sight.
Lunch was enjoyed at The Auld Acquaintance Cairn- it’s always a bonus to have table and seats. The tranquil walk along the merse never disappoints and the amazing garden on the outskirts of Gretna just gets quirkier and quirkier.
Amazingly the whole walk was cow free.
We returned to Gretna Green Blacksmiths for alfresco coffee and saw three weddings with lovely brides, but most of the group were more distracted by the “silver fox “ piper !!!
Thankyou for turning out for being great company.
