A good sized group started out in bright early spring weather, but the wind was chilly.
Two new walkers joined us spurred on after speaking with other members in recent days. This is excellent news! Both seemed to enjoy the experience and the team were their usual friendly selves mixing and encouraging the new members - hopefully!
We had two fallers within metres of the start of the first footpath. The underfoot bramble lattice was strong and ungiving. Thankfully nothing serious resulted and all regrouped and moved on. The usually chatty leader lived up to his name and engrossed in conversation completely missed the path to How Mill. Wiser folk stopped back waiting for our return and off we set again.
Two loops taking in Hayton, How Mill, Fenton, Hard Bank and return. Just over eight miles in all. We had a great day finished off with refreshments at Hayton Farm.
Thanks to all - it was a joy to be with you all
Catherine and Tony.
