High Pike & Carrock Fell
6 Miles Grade 2
Leader: Sandra Stockley
Report by Sandra Stockley
Despite it being a very cold day with ominous dark clouds, 12 hardy individuals reached the summit of High Pike from Nether Row within an hour. After a quick elevenses, we set off to catch John up, already en route to Carrock Fell. We stopped for a quick photo on the top and descended a couple of hundred yards on the Mungrisedale Path. After lunch, I decided we needed to retrace our steps, a bit tricky over boulders (taken in good spirit by all present), to Carrock’s summit then descend on the good path downhill to the bridge over Carrock Beck. After a short rest we walked back to Nether Row by 4 o’clock. A strenuous but fulfilling walk.
