Caldbeck Area - High Pike

12 people gathered in the blindingly sunlit car park at Caldbeck. 5 went off with Judy leading to do a circular walk along the Howk Waterfalls around the quarry. We remaining 7 climbed High Pike from Nether Row. There was a bitterly cold wind but we were soon on the summit for lunch in the lower shelter looking over to cloud-covered Galloway and towards Carrock Fell. We all met up in Priests Mill car park at 1.45 for welcome refreshments.
