Sale Fell

We were very lucky with the weather on Wednesday although it was a little wet underfoot.  Seventeen of us set off from the parking area near the Pheasant Inn as planned, we coped with crossing a beck which wasn't too fast flowing and made it to where we had a lovely viewpoint over Bassenthwaite Lake.  We then followed the path up and over Sale Fell, which again had lovely views in all directions, there was sunshine on Criffel!   Then down and on to Ling Fell, it was then decided that we were not going to climb right to the top, although one of our fitter members asked permission to leave the Group temporarily in order to get to the top, they did this while we were proceeding with the walk and returned in minutes!   It was then quite a long walk round by road, with very little traffic, to where we were parked. Then off to The Craggs Tearoom for refreshments
