Carlisle & District Rambling & Fellwalking Club

Walk & Event Reports

The skies cleared, the sun came out late morning and nobody felt they could legitimately complain about it being too hot, although we were generally rather pleased to be walking through some shady woodland, close to the river. Carricks was mentioned in Low Row and we were interested in some old postcards which were brought along. The Romans were also mentioned, we walked along the Stanegate for a bit and visited the church (and Roman fort) at Nether Denton, but generally it was a walk through quiet countryside bathed in midsummer sunshine, the hay recently cut. Twenty turned up.
