What a day? Our leader had arranged almost everything!

Seventeen of us met in the centre of Haltwhistle and after walking for a few minutes we were alongside the river in rolling fields and glorious late winter sunshine. Some of us were naive enough to enquire regarding the actual walk length and were reassured that we would probably manage to reach the end before darkness fell. We clambered up a few hills, saw very few cars, and those expecting the  promised muddy treat were disappointed to encounter only a few token patches.

After walking a tad over ten miles we arrived back in Haltwhistle to find the two tea shops closed!

We decided to head Hayton Farm Tearoom, they were just about close but made all 17 of us very welcome.

The weather was brilliant.

The countryside scenery was magnificent.

Thanks – again - to Graham for a fantastic walk, and to the group for the great company and good natured humorous banter on a beautiful day.
