Langholm Area
8 Miles Grade 3
Leader: Nancy McLure
Report by Nancy McLure
I welcomed fourteen walkers at the car park at Langholm including Diane and Mike who were new to walking on a Wednesday. As we headed out of town, the promised light rain seemed to become very wet! We enjoyed the autumnal colours, the mist and tried to ignore the damp and the mud. Views were of the minimalist variety. By the time we reached the appointed lunch stop and the rain was of the relentless variety, I decided to curtail the walk. We crossed the side of Whita Hill and reached the road at Hillhead before reaching the Jubilee Path and the Buccleuch Centre for shedding of dripping garments and a welcome hot drink. Thanks to all for their cheerful companionship and I hope my next walk is on a dry day!
