Todays offering was a tough walk taking in three cracking tops. Seven turned up for the journey to Buttremere and the closer we got to our destination so the weather got better and better. From Buttermere we set off for the 2 mile treck around to Scale Force. It was then the long slog to Red Pike via Lingcomb Edge. From there it was great views all the way. Items of clothing were removed because of the heat but at times we were treated to a cooling breeze.
It was a longish leisurely lunch on Red Pike before setting off for High Stile. The walking in the heat taking its toll on us all, but its amazing what grown adults will do for a Jelly Baby. High Crag was our last port of call before heading down to Scarth Gap and the lovely walk back to Buttermere along the lake side.
No tea and buns today, it was cold Beers and drinks in the Fish, all very well earned. Thanks to all who turned up, a great days walking.
