Having left the Sands and regrouping at Seathwaite it was obvious that a walk to the wettest place in England, Sprinkling Tarn would be as much fun as a poke in the eye with a walking stick. It looked pretty grim. We relocated to Braithwaite and headed off up Barrow. For a fairly small simple hill this was not without its challenges. Strong winds and hail can be an uncomfortable combination, leaving some pondering the advantages of Lanercost. But anyways we battled through it and on down the other side where we had a spell of no rain allowing us to get our lunch. We then proceeded to Stair, Swinside and then lake side at Nichol End before heading back to the cars via Portinscale. Waterproofs as well as Spirits well tested on what on another day would be considered a walk in the park. Thanks to the Dirty Dozen(or should that be Wet dozen) who braved the elements.
