.
A fine autumn day for this circular walk along a section of the Ullswater Way Starting from Pooley Bridge nine of us made our way to Dalemain then onto Dacre with time to explore its old church yard and find the sandstone bears. The walk along Dacre Bank high above the beck gave fine views of distant Blencathra and some of the higher fells closer by. We descended to cross the beck then put in a couple of miles of road walking to rejoin the Ullswater Way making a final climb to the hill fort of Maiden Castle with views down the length of the lake
There was time for a sociable cuppa in Granny Dowbekins at the end of a fine ramble.
Thanks to everyone who came along
